Chateau Sabiduría Antigua!

“I live a charmed life!”

This is a mantra I adopted 15 years ago. At a time where everything in my world was falling apart I began speaking the life I wanted into existence. I’ve been an artist my whole life but at this point in time life had hurled so many distractions at me that I was no longer in alignment with my true purpose. So I started intentionally creating Art everyday. Even when I wasn’t sure, even when I didn’t feel like it, I pushed through. The studio was home… a familiar place I returned to time and time again to celebrate, grieve, grow and heal! Slowly but surely my time in the studio proved to be the motivation and the medicine I needed. My visual vocabulary blossomed, my tribe of creators soon followed and I carved out a space for myself, on an international level, as an artist. I was no longer wishing to but actually living.. a charmed life!

It has always been my dream to build my own home and my own studio. Now that you’ve gotten a glimpse at the integral role the studio has played in my journey… the importance it holds in shaping who I am… It would only make sense to build a home that was centered around my studio not just a studio that was a room in my home. I envisioned a grand open space that flowed from one living area to another …a mixture between a place to relax, create and showcase the work that is so deeply and organically a part of who I am. Because let’s be honest Art is not synonymous with canvas or paper or paint…Art is Decor…Art is fashion…Art is nature…Art is a lifestyle!

That is what Château Sabiduria Antigua is for me. A lifestyle… a quiet respite from the noise of the world, nestled on 5 Acres in the Arizona Sonoran Desert my soon to be Studio Ranch Home will be a place for retreat and creativity. It will be a sprawling lofted “barndiminum” with 26 foot high ceilings, bathed in natural sun light that will pour in from an array of windows and 14 foot high rolling doors that will transform the space into the finest of indoor and outdoor living. The Desert landscape, Sonoran cactus and Rocky Mountains will serve as the background for this melting pot of nature, Art and connection . A major lynchpin of my art work is incorporating parts of the natural world around me. Whether it be found objects or Eco Dying with rain, plants, or earth I always strive to create work that looks and feels organic, worn and as if it’s already been a part of a rich deep history. At Château Sabiduria Antigua I look forward to connecting with my fellow artist through residencies where creatives can come and explore their craft in leisure and also through hosting Master Class Experiences!

This chapter of my charmed life has been long overdue and in spite of many dark days, trying times and the ever morphing world around me it brings me so much joy to embark on this new adventure . As I transition into large scale fine art pieces and chronicle more of my day to day life as an artist I hope you all continue on this ride with me!
